Bangkok-Pattaya Trip Day 2 Part 2: Madame Tussaud, Terminal 21, MBK

     Hello everybody ^^
After going to Golden Buddha Temple, we went to Siam Discovery for Madame Tussaud. Our minibus stopped at MBK, so we must walk to Siam Discovery through Siam Center. Siam Center is very beautiful mall i think. The decoration is very cool especially the food court and the alley, also the store. I really want to take the picture, but i can't. Not enough time :(

all the shopping mall around are connected

Finally we arrive at Siam Dicovery, the Madame Tussaud is on the 6th floor. My tour guide said, Madame Tussaud Bangkok most visitors are Indonesian. So a few months ago, they made a wax statue of Indonesian first ever president, Soekarno. My friends father said, the wax statue of our first president is too young so it's less handsome lol ;p

Because i not really confident about taking self potrait, so i don't have many picture with the statue hehe i just take a picture of the statue. All kpop lovers especially hottest (2pm's fans club) want to visit Madame Tussaud Bangkok because they have the wax statue of Nichkun. My friend really want to see it and take a picture with the statue, so do i :D

 2pm's Nichkun
But the wax statue of Nichkun is not exactly the same. It's different although it's still handsome ;p

 David Beckham
even Tom Cruise wax statue is very handsome :*
 Angelina Jolie
Jackie Chan

At the end of the museum, there's a place where you can make your hand's wax statue. It's kinda expensive and fragile so my friend told me not to make it.

After visiting the Madame Tussaud, we decided to go to Terminal 21. Actually it was me, who gave that idea because i read from a blog, if you are a shopaholic, Terminal 21 is a must visited place but it is not a part of the tour so we went there by our self. The tour guide told us to take the BTS Skytrain. It's very fast andof course, no traffic jam.

To buy the single journey ticket, you must exchange your banknote with coins. There's a locket where you can exchange it. You can see how to use bts skytrain in Bangkok in here: guide to travel around Bangkok using BTS Skytrain (video) or this one: ticket issuing and user guide

the machine where you can get your single journey ticket. you can insert 1/5/10 Baht coins
board inside the skytrain, you can see the routes and 'where you are'

From Siam station we went to Asok station we we pass through 4 station and it cost 25 Baht.

Terminal 21 is located in front of BTS Asok, so it's connected. Terminal 21 is a very unique mall, each floor is decorated with the theme of each metropolitan (Paris, Tokyo, Rome, Istanbul, London and San Francisco).

Started from the basement floor which decorated in Caribbean style where supermarket and other convenience and service stores are here. (twosave.com)

(not my pict)

Unfortunately, because of time we only explored the Tokyo floor.

Terminal 21 is famous to have a great toilet. At Tokyo floor the interior is like when you go to a
sauna. It's really, really beautiful!

Each floor have this in the escalator. It's very unique!

In the Tokyo floor, mostly we can bargain because there's no price tag. (If there's a price tag, don't you dare to bargain haha) I bought 2 shirt and a short.

We plan to meet our tour guide in MBK, so we are in hurry to take the skytrain. But an incident happens. My friends grandmother take the skytrain before us and she doesn't have her phone so she's lost. We were really panicked and catch up with the next train, but there's no sign from her. We search until the last station, Mo Chit station. We called our tour guide, ask the security, tell the staff at the station finally they found her in Siam :)

After that incident, my tour guide said that we can shopping at MBK but our energy are already drained. So at first me and my friends take a break at McDonald. I'm very curious about the food (if it's same or not with Indonesian McDonald) but in the end we choose to order cola, french fries and the new menu (i forgot the name).

MBK also known as Mahboonkrong, is a large shopping mall in Bangkok, Thailand. At eight stories high, the center contains around 2,000 shops, restaurants and service outlets, including the 4-story Tokyu department. (google)

MBK is a famous shopping destination especially if you join the tour from Indonesian tour. They will definitely bring you here to shop. If you want to buy things in cheaper price, don't shop at the department store. There's a lot of kiosk outside the department store. I bought 2 backpacks and very satisfied with the price.

After that we had dinner at Ole ole restaurant. The food was delicious :)

I asked my tour guide, what's the popular Thai beer, and he said usually people drink Chang or Singha. So when we reach the hotel, we went to the nearest 7eleven to buy the beer. We bought the Singha one :)

I forgot the price but the taste is same as indonesian beer :p

Bangkok-Pattaya Trip Day 2 Part 1: Wat Pho, Chaophraya River, Wat Arun, Golden Buddha Temple

     Hello everybody ^^
The second day in Bangkok, i still don't use to it. I still confused when wake up 'where am i?' and suddenly remembered that i'm at hotel in Bangkok. lol. Today breakfast was really good western type (you can choose) with french toast, pancake, sausage (the best chicken sausage ever!!), fried potato, a lil' bit of chili sauce and a glass of orange juice, nom nom :9 The only one thing i dislike, the chili sauce is not spicy at all. It was sour but it's not tomato sauce.

not my pict, my friend's breakfast

After the delicious breakfast, we went to nearest place first, Wat Pho. Actually it's only take a few minutes by car to go to Wat Pho from Grande Ville Hotel.

Wat Pho or The Temple of Reclining Buddha or Wat Phra Chetuphon is a Buddhist Temple, the largest temple in Bangkok and famed for its huge and majestic reclining Buddha statue, measuring 46 metres long and covered in golden leaf (Bangkok.com)

Wat Pho also famous for its traditional Thai Massage. It's quite different to most other forms of therapeutic massage and tends to be invigorating rather than relaxing, incorporating yoga style postures to relieve stress and improve blood circulation. Cost around 120 baht for half an hour or 200 baht per hour (Bangkok.com)

But i can't try the massage because of the time. So i just sight seeing the reclining Buddha and take many pict :) Oh!! there's one thing. If you wear short, the staff will give you green eye-catching clothes (look exactly the same as a bathrobe)

After seeing the Wat Pho, we continue to Chao Phraya River Pier to take a boat to go to Wat Arun. Before reach the pier, you will found a market but if you want to buy souvenir, don't buy it here. There's a place inside Wat Arun who sell cheaper souvenir. So, keep your money ;)

Coconut is the must try beverage to drink when visiting Thailand. But i can't drink it because of the time and tour schedule :'(

To ride the boat, you must buy the ticket first @ 20 Baht.

I like riding on a boat because i like to see the view.

White Orchid dinner cruise. Actually we plan to do dinner cruise but we cancel it due to seasick

in Chao Phraya river, there's a lot of catfish and people believe they can't catch them so they (the fish) live from their birth to death in this river

We went to Wat Arun, the Temple of the Dawn, locally known as Wat Chaeng.Wat Arun is one of the best known landmarks and one of the most published images of Bangkok.

You can rent the traditional Thai clothes in front of Wat Arun.

Because Wat Arun is a temple, so if you wear shorts or mini skirt you have to rent the fabric. If you don't want, so you can't come in or better use long jeans.

Like i said before, my tour guide told us if we want to buy souvenir, go buy it in Wat Arun because they will give you cheaper price. Especially for Indonesian, the seller can speak Indonesian and accept Indonesian Rupiah.

I have a bad experience while in there. I tell my friends to take a picture with the Thai statue, but when i finished, an old man (coming out no where) stop me and asking for money. He said that one person (to take the picture with the statue) is 40 Baht. Because i already take the picture, so i gave him 80 Baht for 2 person.

be careful of this statue!!

P.S. I really want to see Wat Arun at sunset but i can't :( They say, it's a must to see that while in Thailand

After going to Wat Arun, we take the boat again and went to lunch at a river view restaurant. It's called Wan Fah, the exclusive Thai boat & restaurant.

When we went there, mostly the visitors are leading by tour guide, not personnel. The food was quite delicious since i'm very hungry but i don't really like it. Maybe i just don't like Thai cuisine ;p

After our stomach are full, we continue to the nxt place. My tour guide said we better visit Golden Buddha Temple first rather than just going to Siam Discovery (for Madame Tussaud)

Golden Buddha Temple or Wat Traimit houses the world's largest golden seated Buddha measuring nearly five metres in height and weighing five and a half tons. In the past, artisans crafted the Buddhas in gold and disguised them from invading armies by a covering of stucco and plaster (Bangkok.com)

The Buddha at Wat Traimit was discovered by accident when it was accidentally dropped as it was being moved, revealing, under a casing of plaster, a beautiful solid gold Sukhothai style Buddha. Pieces of the plaster are still kept on display (Bangkok.com)
You must take off your shoes or slipper and of course because it is a temple you can't go in if you wear shorts unless you rent the fabric.

Stay tuned for Bangkok Trip Day 2 Part 2 :))
